Pokémon card convention trade floor

Convention
Survival Guide

Don't let bad Wi-Fi cost you a good trade.

Convention center Wi-Fi is notoriously unreliable, and cell signals often vanish once you're deep on the trade floor. To make sure you have accurate data when you're at a vendor's table, follow these three steps the night before the show.

01Essential

The "Price Lock" Protocol

Do this the night before every show.

Prices can swing overnight, and you don't want your app trying to fetch a live update in a dead zone. This three-step sequence takes under two minutes and guarantees you walk onto the floor with accurate data.

Sync Your Inventory

Open the app while on your home Wi-Fi and pull down to refresh your "Trade Binder" or "Slabs" folders. Every card you own gets a fresh price stamp.

Toggle "Lock Prices"

Go to Settings → Offline Mode and select "Lock for 24 Hours." This caches the latest TCGPlayer and Mana Pool market values directly to your device.

Why It Matters

If you have no signal tomorrow, the app won't show a loading spinner — it will show your Locked price from the night before. No dead zones, no dead deals.

02Recommended

Prepare Your "Trade-In" Folder

Vendors move fast. Be ready before they are.

If you're fumbling through your digital collection at the table, the vendor will move on to the next person. Pre-organizing your trade inventory the night before is the difference between a smooth deal and a missed one.

Pre-Scan Tonight

Scan every card you intend to sell or trade while you still have good lighting and a reliable connection. Don't leave this for the morning.

Move to a Named Folder

Group them into a folder named "[Show Name] Trades" — for example, "ECCC 2026 Trades." One tap opens your entire trade inventory at the table.

Condition Check

Assign conditions (NM, LP, MP) now. Our AI scanner is accurate, but a manual double-check under good home lighting ensures your Locked Price reflects the true condition of the card.

03Pro & Collector

Download the Offline Database

Search for cards you don't own — even in Airplane Mode.

Pro Vendor and Collector plan subscribers can download a lightweight pricing index to their device. This lets you look up any Pokémon card — including ones you're considering buying — without any signal at all.

Navigate to Settings

Open Settings → Data Management from the main menu.

Tap "Download Offline Index"

The index is approximately 150MB and covers every card in our database with the most recent cached prices. Download once, use all weekend.

Use It to Buy, Not Just Sell

When a collector walks up with a card you've never seen before, you can still pull a price. Knowing what to offer on a buy is just as valuable as knowing what to charge on a sell.

Pro Tip

Screenshots are your backup.

If you have a high-value trade pending, open your trade summary in the app and take a quick screenshot while you still have a bar of signal. It's a 5-second insurance policy against a total blackout.

For the floor: Trade Summary → Share → Screenshot. Done.
